Winter Sale!

January 25, 2010

Nomads – Adventure and activewear for people on the move

I headed up the coast last week to the island I grew up on to help my mother celebrate her 79th birthday. While there I joined the women of the “Dip of the Month Club” in their monthly ocean dip. It was fun to hoot and holler and laugh at the ridiculousness of plunging ourselves into 42 degree water in the middle of January. It was such a testament, though, to the sturdiness, companionship and camaraderie that is required to survive and thrive in climate that is rather dark and cold for much of the year. Now that we are in the thick of winter, I hope you too can find camaraderie, adventure and hardiness to see you through until those early signs of spring (or until you find yourself on that Caribbean vacation some of you may be planning)!

To help you through winter’s challenges, Nomads now has a huge winter sale going on. All outerwear including jackets from Isis, Mountain Hardwear and Nau are 30% off. Are you as much of an Ibex fan as we are? Then now is the time to feed that wool addiction with everything Ibex. At 30% off, this merino wool is priced more like that synthetic stuff (but it’s better because it is sheep’s clothing)! With plenty of time left to get great use out of some new cold-weather wear, now is the time to score some serious savings.

The annual tour of the Banff Mountain Film Festival is underway. It’s making its way to South Portland High School on Tuesday, February 16 at 7:00. The tickets are $16 in advance ($19 at the door if still available). We’re selling them at the store, so come on by and pick them up or, give us a call if you have any questions about the festival. It’s really a fun and entertaining way to spend a winter evening!

Happy 2010 everyone and thanks for helping to make 2009 such a successful year for Nomads!
